Do you want to help improve heart imaging techniques? This study aims to improve magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) methods to detect coronary heart disease. Healthy people and people who have coronary heart disease will have MRI scans while resting and after taking a medicine that temporarily makes your heart work harder. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and either healthy or diagnosed with coronary heart disease. The study is taking place in Los Angeles, California.

Are you an adult interested in a new treatment for pulmonary hypertension? This study is exploring whether a medicine called spironolactone can improve heart and lung function during exercise in people who have pulmonary hypertension. To participate in this study, you must be 18 to 99 years old and have a type of pulmonary hypertension known as pulmonary arterial hypertension. This study is located in Bethesda, Maryland.

Are you an adult with pulmonary hypertension and normal pump function of your heart? This study is looking at the effect of an oral medicine called a nitrate on the ability to exercise in people who have pulmonary hypertension and normal pump function of their heart, also known as pulmonary hypertension and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (PH-HFpEF). To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and have PH-HFpEF that was confirmed by right heart catheterization. This study is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Do you or your child have pulmonary hypertension and want to help research? This study is looking to better understand pulmonary hypertension in children who have this condition. To participate in this study, you or your child must be 21 years old or younger and must have been diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension before the age of 18. This study is located at multiple sites across the United States and Canada, including California, Colorado, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Alberta, Canada.

Are you a healthy adult, or do you have pulmonary hypertension and heart failure? This study is comparing how a medicine called oral nitrate gets broken down in healthy adults and in adults who have pulmonary hypertension and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. Oral nitrate is a medicine used to improve blood flow for certain heart conditions. Participants will provide blood, stool, saliva, and urine samples and have their vitals checked at several points in the study. This research will help reveal how oral nitrate affects oral and gut bacteria. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and either be healthy or have pulmonary hypertension and heart failure that was confirmed by right-heart catheterization in the past 6 months. This study is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Are you an adult who has pulmonary hypertension and would like to see whether healthy lifestyle changes can help? This study is looking at a high blood pressure condition called pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). It will test whether better blood sugar control in the body improves this condition. Researchers will test this by having participants who have PAH follow a healthy eating plan and get more physical activity. To participate in this study, you must be between 18 and 75 years old and have been diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension. This study is located in Cleveland, Ohio.

Is your newborn in the neonatal intensive care unit at St. Louis Children’s Hospital? This study aims to better understand breathing problems and blood flow through the heart in premature newborns to better detect conditions such as pulmonary hypertension. To participate in this study, your newborn must have been born prematurely between 24 and 29 weeks’ gestation and be a patient in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. This study is located in St. Louis, Missouri.

Do you or a family member have pulmonary hypertension? This study is looking at how hormones contribute to pulmonary arterial hypertension and whether treatments for hormone imbalances or insulin resistance also improve pulmonary hypertension. To participate in this study, you must be 90 years old or younger and have pulmonary arterial hypertension or be a family member of someone who has this condition. This study is located in Nashville, Tennessee.

Do you have cystic fibrosis and are you eligible for a lung transplant? This study is interested in learning more about the presence and location of certain bacteria in the lungs of people who have cystic fibrosis by examining lungs that have been removed from patients who have cystic fibrosis who are undergoing a lung transplant. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old, have been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, be eligible for a lung transplant, and have tried all other available treatments without success. This study is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Does your child have cystic fibrosis and want to help improve chest imaging studies for other patients? This study is looking at the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as a standard way to monitor cystic fibrosis in children. To participate in this study, your child must be between 6 and 12 years old; have been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis through genetic testing, caused by certain CFTR gene mutations; and be able to complete an MRI study. This study is located in Cincinnati, Ohio.
