This study is testing the efficacy of a diuretic medicine called spironolactone that stops your body from absorbing too much salt and keeps your potassium levels from dropping too low. Are you an adult with cardiomyopathy who is eligible for a left ventricular assist device (LVAD)? This study is investigating whether a ventricular arrhythmia (VTA) ablation at the same time that an LVAD is implanted lowers the risk of VTA after surgery. This study aims to find out whether a method called Comprehensive Health Informatics Engagement Framework for Pulmonary Rehabilitation can help people who have COPD stick to their treatment plan. Are you a 30- to 55-year-old smoker or non-smoker who would like to support better understanding of COPD risk factors? This study aims to find early signs of COPD in adults who have a high risk of this condition. Researchers will compare results from questionnaires, lung tests, and other tests in people who smoke and in people who do not smoke to look for factors that predict which people will develop COPD. To participate in this study, you must either currently smoke or have no history of smoking. This study takes place in multiple locations in the United States.
