Does your child have Down Syndrome? Did they have a complete atrioventricular septal defect (CAVSD) repair within the first year of their life? Researchers in this study are investigating how the
brain develops in children with Down Syndrome who have congenital heart disease. To participate, your child must be between 5 and 12 years old and have Down Syndrome. The study will enroll children who have congenital heart disease as well as children who do not have congenital heart disease. The study is taking place in locations in Delaware, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Washington, D.C., and Toronto, Canada

This investigators will examine vascular reactivity and inflammatory biomarkers using quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and blood serum in a crossover study, with active vapers (electronic cigarette users) and smokers undergoing three, separate-day, acute exposure-episodes of smoking a tobacco cigarette, an electronic cigarette without nicotine, and an electronic cigarette with nicotine. Participants will undergo an MRI exam and a blood draw pre- and post-exposure-episode.

The overall goal of this study is to use state-of-the-art monitors to objectively measure the 24-hour behavioral cycle in each trimester of pregnancy, and to examine associations of these behaviors with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and other adverse pregnancy outcomes linked with future cardiovascular disease risk.

Are you 75 years old or older and interested in participating in a clinical trial where researchers are studying whether statins, which are often used to treat high cholesterol, can help improve heart and brain health. To participate, you cannot have cardiovascular disease or dementia. Are you an adult female with LAM? If so, you may be able to participate in this clinical study where researchers are observing patients who are taking or have taken a certain kind of medication, mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), to treat lymphangioleiomyomatosis, also known as LAM. You must be at least 18 years old to take part. Are you at least 18 years old and have sickle cell disease and taking the medication Hydroxyurea? For this study, researchers testing are tool for measuring oxygen levels, blood flow, and the makeup of skin and muscle in patients with sickle cell disease. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and have sickle cell disease and also be taking the medication Hydroxyurea. This study is taking place at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
