Are you an adult who has had Fontan palliation operation? If so, you may be able to join a clinical trial where researchers learn more about how the heart and lungs work after a Fontan palliation. Researchers will perform a procedure called a cardiac catheterization while participants exercise to see how well the heart is working. Participants must be at least 18 years old. The study is taking place in Rochester, Minnesota.

Your child must be between 8 and 19 years old, had a Fontan palliation, and can exercise. A study team member will observe the participants doing aerobic and resistance exercises live on video. Are you an adult with mild heart failure and a left bundle branch block? This study will test whether a type of pacemaker called a cardiac resynchronization device can help the heart pump more blood in people who have mild heart failure (HF) and left bundle branch block. In the study, participants will have a cardiac resynchronization device implanted. This study is located in Bethesda, Maryland.

Are you an adult with mild heart failure (HF) and left bundle branch block (LBBB)? LBBB is a heart condition in which there is a delay or blockage of electrical signals to the left side of the heart. This study is exploring the use of a treatment called cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) in people with HF and LBBB. To have CRT, participants must be willing to have an implanted device, called a biventricular pacemaker, that helps the chambers of the heart work together to pump blood more efficiently. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old. This study takes place in Rochester, Minnesota.

Are you an adult who has overweight or obesity and would be interested in a weight-loss study? This study is testing whether a medicine called phentermine is safe and effective for treating obesity over a long period. This study has multiple locations in the United States.

Are you an adult with sleep apnea, overweight, or obesity, or do you just want to help research? This study is looking at how sleep apnea changes fat tissue in the body. The researchers will examine whether these changes in fat tissue may raise the risk of heart and blood vessel diseases. To participate in this study, you must be between 18 and 60 years old with obstructive sleep apnea and healthy without any chronic diseases. This study takes place in Rochester, Minnesota.

Are you 15 to 40 years old and have severe sickle cell disease? This study is comparing long-term outcomes for patients who receive blood and bone marrow transplants and those who receive standard treatment with medicines. Participants also have an option of contributing blood samples to be stored for future research. Participants must be 15 to 40 years old and have severe sickle cell disease. Do you have sickle cell disease or thalassemia, or are you a healthy volunteer who is willing to undergo a brain MRI? This study aims to understand whether sickle cell disease or thalassemia affects the processes that naturally increase blood flow in the brain when people experience stress. Researchers will measure blood flow using brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Participants in this study must be at least 7 years old and have sickle cell disease or thalassemia. Healthy volunteers can also participate. This study is located in Los Angeles, California.
