To participate, you cannot have cardiovascular disease or dementia. Have you been diagnosed with carotid artery stenosis? If you are over the age of 18 and have had an image scan for a diagnosis of carotid artery stenosis, you may be able to participate in this study. Researchers are trying to learn more about the ability of positron emission tomography (PET) scans to identify people with carotid artery stenosis who have no symptoms but who may be at risk of having a stroke. The study is taking place in Boston, Massachusetts.

Are you an adult with diagnosed atherosclerosis? If so, you may be able to participate in a clinical trial where researchers are trying to learn if a statin, which is used to treat atherosclerosis by lowering cholesterol works better when it is combined with another medication, colchicine, by targeting inflammation. Participants must be between 40 and 75 years old and be at risk of developing coronary artery disease. The study is taking place in Boston, Massachusetts.

Do you have mitral valve disease? This clinical trial is testing different types of images taken of the heart to learn more about mitral valve disease and the best ways to treat it. You must be 60 years old to participate. The study is enrolling patients in locations in Arkansas, California, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Quebec City, Canada.

Are you an adult with obesity and at high risk of heart and blood vessel disease? This study is testing a new program to help people who have obesity stick to their healthy eating plan. Researchers from this study are developing a program that will predict when participants are most likely to stop making healthy food choices and will send messages to remind participants of their weight loss goals. To participate in this study, you must be 18 to 70 years old, have overweight or obesity, and be at high risk of heart and blood vessel diseases. This study takes place in Providence, Rhode Island.

Shift work increases the risk for diabetes possibly due to the adverse metabolic effects of circadian misalignment. As shift work is not foreseen to disappear, the development of individually-targeted therapies for metabolic health in these vulnerable shift workers is urgently needed. This research will determine whether our dietary intervention can mitigate the adverse metabolic effects of circadian misalignment, which may help in the design of evidence-based dietary interventions to improve the metabolic health in shift workers.

This study is designed to assess how healthy premenopausal women respond to different patterns of sleep loss at different times in the menstrual cycle.

The goal of this clinical trial is to test whether our dietary intervention can prevent or lessen the negative health effects of night shift work in healthy participants.

Does your child have overweight or obesity? This study is exploring the link between obesity and sleep deprivation in children. Researchers will test whether participants who do not get enough good quality sleep have trouble making healthy food choices. Participants in this study must be 8 to 12 years old and have overweight or obesity. This study takes place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Providence, Rhode Island.
