Are you a former smoker with COPD? Researchers are studying whether taking aspirin can help with COPD symptoms. Participants must be at least 40 years old, be diagnosed with COPD, and have a history of smoking at least 10 packs of cigarettes a year. The study is taking place in Baltimore, Maryland.

Are you an adult diagnosed with COPD? If so, you may be able to participate in a clinical trial where researchers are studying whether a home delivery program with foods meant to help increase the amount of omega-3 that you eat can help with COPD. Do you or your child have a lung disease? This study will investigate the genes involved in the breathing process and in the development of lung diseases such as asthma or sarcoidosis to improve understanding of the role they play. Are you an adult with a lung disease such as COPD, chronic bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, or emphysema? This study aims to discover if low-dose computed tomography (CT) scans are as effective as regular CT scans in monitoring your COPD. Are you a healthy adult who regularly sleeps for 6.5 or fewer hours? This study is examining whether getting enough sleep can lower your risk of high blood pressure. To participate in this study, you must be between 18 and 65 years old, regularly sleep for 6.5 or fewer hours, and be able to adjust your sleep schedule for the study. This study is located in Rochester, Minnesota.

Are you an African American woman at risk for diabetes? This study is testing whether using mobile health technology, such as smartphone apps and activity monitors, can help increase physical activity in African American women who are at risk for diabetes. To participate in this study, you must be an African American woman between 25 and 75 years old, have evidence of insulin resistance, and live in Prince George’s County, Maryland, or Ward 5, 7, or 8 in Washington, D.C. This study is located in Bethesda, Maryland.

Do you have a heart or blood vessel disease, such as peripheral artery disease? This study aims to collect data and samples from people who have a heart or blood vessel disease. This may include blood tests, ultrasound exams, and heart and lung tests. Family members and healthy people may also participate. The results may help researchers better understand PAD and other heart and blood vessel diseases. Participants must be at least 2 years old. Women who are pregnant may not take part in some study activities. This study is located in Bethesda, Maryland.

Are you at least 21 years old and have heart failure? In this clinical trial, researchers want to understand why patients with heart failure have trouble exercising and doing some of their daily activities. To take part, you must be taking medication to treat your heart failure for at least 30 days. People without heart failure can also join the study. Participants will have images (MRI) taken as part of the study. The study is taking place in Baltimore, Maryland.

Are you an adult who has uncontrolled high blood pressure? This study will see whether an early notification system for health professionals can help manage patients’ high blood pressure, especially among those who have had a stroke or have an increased risk of stroke. To participate in this study, you must be between 18 and 85 years old and have high blood pressure that is not controlled by medicine and lifestyle changes. This study is enrolling native English, Spanish, or Hmong speakers. The study is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
