If so, you may be able to participate in a study that is trying to learn more about the effect of switching from smoking cigarettes to using e-cigarettes on COPD symptoms. You may be able to participate if you are 21 to 74 years old, have mild to moderate COPD, and are willing to try e-cigarettes to cut back on your smoking. The study is taking place in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Have you received treatment from a doctor for COPD that has gotten worse and have you been referred for pulmonary rehabilitation, which can help ease the symptoms of COPD.? In this study, researchers are comparing two ways to encourage people to participate in pulmonary rehabilitation. Participants must be at least 40 years old and be willing to participate in calls with a peer coach and view videos. The study is taking place in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Do you have COPD? This study will be looking for genes that may play a role in the development of COPD by looking at the blood from patients who have COPD, as well as the blood from those patients’ family members. To participate in this study, you must be 52 years old or younger and must not be pregnant or have other serious lung diseases such as lung cancer. Researchers are testing whether an online program helps lower the number of times patients with heart failure return to the hospital. You may be able to participate if you are at least 18 years old, have heart failure, and live within 30 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Are you at least 18 years old and have heart failure? Researchers in this clinical trial are testing whether a new type of hormone therapy may help with symptoms and quality of life for people who have heart failure. Participants will take medication by mouth daily. The study is taking place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

You may be able to participate if you are at least 60 years old; of Black, Hispanic, or Caribbean origin; and have been diagnosed with heart failure. Are you an adult with heart failure? Unplanned weight loss is quite common among people with heart failure. Researchers in this clinical trial are studying whether adding a protein supplement to daily meals can help prevent muscle and weight loss for people with heart failure. To participate, you must be at least 18 years old and have heart failure. The study is taking place in Boston, Massachusetts.

Do you want to help find new treatments for heart failure with preserved ejection fraction? This study is testing whether a medicine called spironolactone can help treat heart failure with preserved ejection fraction when paired with the standard treatment. Spironolactone helps to remove excess water and sodium from the body. To participate in this study, you must be between 50 and 99 years old and diagnosed with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.

Do you have heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and thyroid problems? This study will test whether hormone therapy with liothyronine is safe and effective for treating people who have heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and low triiothyronine (T3) syndrome. Low T3 syndrome is a type of thyroid hormone that helps control many functions of your body. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and diagnosed with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. This study is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Do you have heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD)? This study is testing the effectiveness of thyroid hormone therapy with a medicine called liothyronine (LT3) in individuals HFrEF. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and have Class I, II, or III heart failure. This study takes place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
