The study will help researchers learn the best methods for collecting, storing, and using cord blood in transplants. To participate in this study, you must have a disorder that compromises your body’s ability to make blood cells. This study is located in Bethesda, Maryland.

Have you received treatment from a doctor for COPD that has gotten worse and have you been referred for pulmonary rehabilitation, which can help ease the symptoms of COPD.? In this study, researchers are comparing two ways to encourage people to participate in pulmonary rehabilitation. Participants must be at least 40 years old and be willing to participate in calls with a peer coach and view videos. The study is taking place in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Do you have COPD? This study will be looking for genes that may play a role in the development of COPD by looking at the blood from patients who have COPD, as well as the blood from those patients’ family members. To participate in this study, you must be 52 years old or younger and must not be pregnant or have other serious lung diseases such as lung cancer. Do you have heart failure and live near Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts? Researchers are testing whether an online program helps lower the number of times patients with heart failure return to the hospital. You may be able to participate if you are at least 18 years old, have heart failure, and live within 30 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Do you have heart failure that is well controlled through medication and attending regular appointments with your healthcare provider? This clinical trial is testing a dietary supplement taken by mouth twice a day for five days to see if it can help patients with heart failure. You must be at least 18 years old to participate. The study is taking place in New Haven, Connecticut.

You may be able to participate if you are at least 60 years old; of Black, Hispanic, or Caribbean origin; and have been diagnosed with heart failure. Researchers in this clinical trial are studying whether adding a protein supplement to daily meals can help prevent muscle and weight loss for people with heart failure. To participate, you must be at least 18 years old and have heart failure. The study is taking place in Boston, Massachusetts.

Do you want to help find new treatments for heart failure with preserved ejection fraction? This study is testing whether a medicine called spironolactone can help treat heart failure with preserved ejection fraction when paired with the standard treatment. Spironolactone helps to remove excess water and sodium from the body. To participate in this study, you must be between 50 and 99 years old and diagnosed with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.

Are you an adult with heart failure and an implanted CardioMEMS pulmonary artery pressure (PAP) monitor? This study is investigating whether psychological stress can make the symptoms of heart failure worse. Participants of this study will have their blood pressure monitored and their blood drawn after undergoing mental stress in a controlled setting, within a laboratory. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old. This study takes place in New Haven, Connecticut.

Do you have heart failure and need treatment with intravenous (IV) diuretics? This study is exploring the use of chloride supplementation in people with heart failure who require treatment with IV diuretics, which are used to help rid your body of excess water and salt. To participate in this study, you must have heart failure with signs of volume overload (rales, edema, elevated jugular venous pressure [JVP], or weight gain of at least 5 pounds) requiring treatment with IV diuretics. This study takes place in New Haven, Connecticut.
