Are you considering a blood stem cell transplant? This study is investigating a new method for collecting blood stem cells from donors to see if it reduces transplant complications, such as rejection, in patients who have blood diseases. To participate in this study, you must have a well-matched donor; you and your donor must be between 4 and 80 years old; and you must not be a candidate for immunosuppressive therapy. This study is located in Bethesda, Maryland.

Are you scheduled for a stem cell transplant with cord blood? This study will assess the safety and effectiveness of certain cord blood transplants. The study will help researchers learn the best methods for collecting, storing, and using cord blood in transplants. To participate in this study, you must have a disorder that compromises your body’s ability to make blood cells. This study is located in Bethesda, Maryland.

Are you at least 18 years old and have heart failure? Researchers in this clinical trial are testing whether a new type of hormone therapy may help with symptoms and quality of life for people who have heart failure. Are you an adult who has had Fontan palliation operation? If so, you may be able to join a clinical trial where researchers learn more about how the heart and lungs work after a Fontan palliation. Researchers will perform a procedure called a cardiac catheterization while participants exercise to see how well the heart is working. Participants must be at least 18 years old. Are you an adult with mild heart failure and a left bundle branch block? This study will test whether a type of pacemaker called a cardiac resynchronization device can help the heart pump more blood in people who have mild heart failure (HF) and left bundle branch block. In the study, participants will have a cardiac resynchronization device implanted. This study is located in Bethesda, Maryland.

Do you want to help find new treatments for heart failure with preserved ejection fraction? This study is testing whether a medicine called spironolactone can help treat heart failure with preserved ejection fraction when paired with the standard treatment. Spironolactone helps to remove excess water and sodium from the body. To participate in this study, you must be between 50 and 99 years old and diagnosed with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.

Do you have heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and thyroid problems? This study will test whether hormone therapy with liothyronine is safe and effective for treating people who have heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and low triiothyronine (T3) syndrome. Low T3 syndrome is a type of thyroid hormone that helps control many functions of your body. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and diagnosed with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. This study is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Are you an adult with a history of heart failure, or do you just want to help people who do? This study is recruiting people with heart failure and people with normal heart function to explore the role of the gut microbiome in heart and blood vessel function.
