Are you recovering after treatment for ARDS? This study aims to test a rehabilitation intervention with patients who are recovering from ARDS and have symptoms of depression. The intervention includes periodic visits from physical and occupational therapists, an exercise regimen, and regular check-ins by phone. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and recovering at home after hospital treatment for ARDS or another type of acute respiratory failure. This study is located in Baltimore, Maryland.

Do you have symptoms of a lung disease (such as long-term wet cough, bronchiectasis, or recurrent pneumonia) with no genetic diagnosis? This study aims to develop new ways to diagnose primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) or primary immune deficiency (PID), two conditions that can have similar symptoms. Researchers will combine information from genetic testing, lung imaging, and lung function tests to diagnose and tell the difference between these two conditions. Participants in this study must be 5 to 45 years old and must have symptoms of a serious lung disease but no diagnosis. This study is taking place at multiple locations in the United States and in Canada, including the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

Do you have bronchiectasis and get frequent lung infections? This study is exploring what causes frequent lung infections in people with bronchiectasis. Researchers will look at whether changes to a person's genes or immune system can raise the risk of these frequent infections. Participants in this study must be at least 5 years old and either healthy, diagnosed with bronchiectasis, or have a history of frequent lung infections. This study is located at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

Are you a healthy adult or someone with a history of lung infections such as pneumonia or bronchitis? This study aims to compare fluid and tissue samples from the nose and lungs of healthy adults with people who have a lung disease. Researchers hope to learn why some people are more susceptible to certain infections. This study is located at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

This study evaluates a sensor-controlled digital game (SCDG) to motivate self-management behaviors of weight monitoring and physical activity in adults with heart failure (HF). Half of the participants will receive the SCDG app and weight monitoring and physical activity sensors and the other half will receive only the weight monitoring and physical activity sensors.

Do you have coronary heart disease or are you healthy and would like to participate in research? This study is comparing how well two types of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners can detect different types of heart diseases, such as coronary heart disease, heart failure, congenital heart disease, and heart valve disease. The new type of MRI scanner in this study uses less energy than a traditional scanner and may be suitable for people who have metal devices in their bodies. This study is located in Bethesda, Maryland.

Are you interested in helping researchers understand what causes heart failure? The study is using a technique called magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) during a cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan to determine whether energy metabolism is disrupted in heart failure and whether this contributes to poor heart function. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and either be healthy or have coronary artery disease, dilated cardiomyopathy, or left ventricular hypertrophy. The study is located in Baltimore, Maryland.

Are you at least 21 years old and have heart failure? In this clinical trial, researchers want to understand why patients with heart failure have trouble exercising and doing some of their daily activities. To take part, you must be taking medication to treat your heart failure for at least 30 days. People without heart failure can also join the study. Participants will have images (MRI) taken as part of the study. The study is taking place in Baltimore, Maryland.
