Are you an adult with sickle cell disease who doesn't experience pain episodes? This study uses machine learning to identify sickle cell disease patients who may be at increased risk of chronic kidney disease. To participate in this study, you must be between 18 and 65 years old with sickle cell disease and not experiencing any painful episodes. This study takes place in Chicago, Illinois, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Memphis, Tennessee.

Researchers are testing whether inhaling hypertonic saline (a saline solution with more salt) can help move mucus out of the lungs in people with asthma. Are you interested in supporting research into safe and effective flu prevention for people with COPD? This study is testing whether the nasal spray flu vaccine is safe and effective in people who have COPD. Are you a 30- to 55-year-old smoker or non-smoker who would like to support better understanding of COPD risk factors? This study aims to find early signs of COPD in adults who have a high risk of this condition. Researchers will compare results from questionnaires, lung tests, and other tests in people who smoke and in people who do not smoke to look for factors that predict which people will develop COPD. To participate in this study, you must either currently smoke or have no history of smoking. This study takes place in multiple locations in the United States.

Are you a healthy adult or an adult who has been diagnosed with an interstitial lung disease (ILD)? This study will test whether administering an inhaled gas called hyperpolarized 129Xe before magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) better detects changing disease activity. To participate in the study, you must be age 18 or older and have no history of smoking for the past 5 years. This study will take place in Iowa City, Iowa; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Durham, North Carolina.

Do you or your child have primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD)? This study aims to find out whether mild, moderate, or serious types of PCD are caused by different gene mutations. Researchers will test how well people who have various mutations, or gene changes, that cause PCD can clear mucus from their airways. Results from this study will help improve the diagnosis and treatment of PCD. This study takes place in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Do you or your child have PCD and want to help researchers better understand how cilia are formed? This study aims to identify the genes that control how cilia are formed. Cilia are hairlike structures that line the airways and protects the normal lung. The study will also identify how mutations to these genes can cause PCD. This study takes place in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Are you between 14 and 22 weeks pregnant, and think that you might have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) ? This study is testing whether using CPAP to treat obstructive sleep apnea in pregnant women can help lower the risk of hypertensive disorders during pregnancy.
