A study team will recruit 60 teens and young adults (between 12 and 21 years old) with persistent asthma who are at high risk for future exacerbation. This study examines the contribution of interleukin 1 beta (IL-1β), a protein that is involved in the inflammatory response, in asthma flare-ups.
