Senior Investigator Research Interests
- Conduct multidisciplinary epidemiologic studies aimed at explaining the biological mechanisms by which exposures influence cardiopulmonary disease risk and progression in humans, with focus on genomic instability.
- Investigate whether the impact of exposures on cardiopulmonary outcomes differ across racial/ethnic groups and by geographic location.
- Assess how atmospheric conditions characteristic of climate change affect cardiopulmonary outcomes in humans.
Meet the Team

Jason Wong, S.M., Sc.D.
Dr. Jason Wong earned his dual-doctorate in epidemiology and environmental health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts. He later became a postdoctoral fellow at the Stanford University School of Medicine, where he examined the chronic health effects of secondhand smoke in a multi-ethnic study of women in the United States. Prior to joining ECHB, Dr. Wong was a research fellow at the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics, National Cancer Institute, where he investigated the influence of occupational/environmental exposure to air pollutants on various biomarkers of genomic instability, with a focus on telomere length, as well as identifying risk factors for lung cancer among special populations (e.g., unique or high-exposure, minority, or geographic location).
