Meeting of Federal Staff Interested in School Health and Safety

LOCATION: Hubert Humphrey Building, Room 325A, Washington, DC
DETAILS: The Maternal and Child Health Bureau at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has invited Janet DeJesus from NHLBI to present the We Can! program to Federal employees interested in school health and safety.

We Can! City Kick-Off: Caguas, Puerto Rico
DATE: May 16
LOCATION: Caguas, Puerto Rico
DETAILS: The city of Caguas, Puerto Rico is hosting a kick-off event to announce the first We Can! city in Puerto Rico. The Honorable Aníbal Acevedo-Vilá, Governor of Puerto Rico, has been invited to the event. Karen Donato from NHLBI will be on hand to present Caguas officials with their We Can! City sign.

We Can! Summit: Berrien County Kick-Off Event
DATE: May 28, 2:30–4:00 p.m. CDT
LOCATION: St. Joseph, Michigan
DETAILS: The Lakeland Regional Medical Center is hosting a kick-off event to introduce a new We Can! county, Berrien County, MI. An estimated 200 partners will attend the event at the Vineland Center at which county representatives will receive their official We Can! County sign.

HRSA Bureau of Primary Health Care: Grantee Meeting
DATE: June 23–25
LOCATION: National Harbor, Maryland
DETAILS: The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) will hold its 2008 Primary Health Care All-Grantee Meeting at the Gaylord National Convention Center, National Harbor, MD. HRSA grantees provide health care to uninsured people, people living with HIV/AIDS, and pregnant women, mothers and children. On June 25, Karen Donato from NHLBI will present on the We Can! program from 10:00-11:30 a.m., as part of an overall conference effort to help participants to share effective practices.
