October 2015

Nefthi’s paper about the angiogenic activity of single ventricle patients with aortopulmonary collateral (APC) vessels has been accepted in the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. This is the first paper published in the clinical journal from our lab. Congratulations! 

Tomoko's adult ear skin image showing innervation and vascularization has been awarded as the 8th place in the 2015 Nikon Photomicrography competition. It has been reported in the CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/14/world/nikon-small-world-photomicrography-bees-2015/). Congratulations!

Tomoko and Jessica presented in the NAVBO Vascular Biology 2015, Boston. Tomoko’s abstract was selected as an oral presentation. She also received a Merit Award. Congratulations!

September 2015

In the 2015 NIH relay, Team “GDBC-Ya”, (Krista, Iris, Rebecca, Antoine/Adelstein lab, Masaki/Strober lab) placed 35th out of 107 teams, with a time of 17:18!

Wenling, Tomoko and Jessica will present in the 2015 NIH Research Festival.

Yosuke will present in the Rudbeck Lecture Series at Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden.

Chang Liu, who received PhD from Dept. of Animal Sciences, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Advisor: Humphrey Hung-Chang Yao/NIEHS), will join our lab as a visiting fellow. Welcome!

Yutaka’s paper about the role of Sema3s-mediated signal in skin lymphangiogenesis has been accepted in Biology Open. Congratulations! 

Nefthi will move to Clinical & Translational Research, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Division of Pediatric Cardiology, Stanford University. Good luck!

Rebecca Izen, who received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin, will join our lab as a postbac student. Welcome!
