A doctor discussing information with his patient. Text: Sickle Cell Disease - Knowledge and Practices Among Healthcare Providers: Results of a National Survey.
Overview

The Blood Diseases & Disorders Education Program and CVS Health® collaborated on a research study exploring healthcare providers’ understanding of sickle cell disease (SCD) to help inform the development of educational resources for providers and people living with SCD. The study was designed to identify the current state of self-reported awareness and knowledge gaps specific to the care of patients with SCD to better understand what healthcare providers know, where they get information, and what assistance they need in providing care for people living with SCD.
