Do you have mild sleep apnea, or do you just want to help research? This study aims to understand how mild sleep apnea and not getting enough sleep contribute to daytime sleepiness. The study will also test which of three different treatment programs is most effective at preventing daytime sleepiness. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old. This study takes place in Detroit, Michigan.

Do you have sleep apnea, and would you be willing to try both an oral appliance and oxygen therapy? This study is testing whether treating sleep apnea with both is more effective than treating sleep apnea with either an oral appliance or oxygen therapy alone. To participate in this study, you must be 21 to 79 years old. This study takes place in Boston, Massachusetts; and Notting Hill, Victoria, Australia.

Do you take opioids for pain relief? You may have a higher risk of sleep disordered breathing. This study is testing whether positive airway pressure (PAP) can help treat sleep disordered breathing in individuals using opioids. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and either healthy or taking opioids to treat long-term pain. This study takes place in San Diego, California.

Do you have a child with Down syndrome and obstructive sleep apnea who is treated with positive airway pressure (PAP)? This study is testing a new intervention that was informed by the families to help children with Down syndrome and obstructive sleep apnea stick to their PAP treatment. The study will test the effectiveness of a new treatment plan that involves regular telephone and in-person check-ins with a PAP specialist. This study is for 6 -18 year old and is located in Cincinnati, Ohio; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Do you have a child 2 years or younger who has had surgery to treat myelomeningocele (MMC)? Sleep – disordered breathing (SBD) is common in infants and young children who have brain and spinal cord issues, including MMC, a serious type of spina bifida. This study is testing whether treating MMC by surgery before or after birth can help lower the risk of SBD. The study will also examine the link between SBD and brain development. This study takes place in multiple locations in the United States.

Do you regularly sleep less than 7 hours each day? This study is exploring the links between how long a person sleeps and their blood pressure. The study will look at whether getting enough good quality sleep can help participants maintain healthy blood pressure levels during sleep. Are you an African American adult with type 2 diabetes? This study is testing whether mindfulness meditation can help reduce stress and improve sleep. Participants will attend eight meditation classes in person or online and will receive regular text messages to remind them to practice meditation techniques at home. This study takes place in Chicago, Illinois.

Does your child have overweight or obesity or just want to be in a study on sleep and eating habits? Overweight and obesity are common in children who do not get enough good quality sleep. This study aims to understand how sleep deficiency can affect a child’s ability to make good food choices. Researchers will ask participants to spend either 8 or 11 hours in bed and to keep track of their food choices. Participants in this study must be 8 to 12 years old. This study takes place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Providence, Rhode Island.
