Are you or a loved one on a ventilator in the hospital in Minnesota? This study is finding out whether people who are on a ventilator sleep better and have less anxiety if they can control their own sedation medicine. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and receiving mechanical ventilation while hospitalized. This study is located in Minneapolis and Rochester, Minnesota.

Do you or a loved one have pneumonia? This study will test whether combining two medicines to reduce inflammation of the airway and to keep it open may help prevent respiratory failure in people who have pneumonia. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and have severe pneumonia with low blood oxygen levels.

Are you an adult who has PAD and overweight or obesity? This study aims to learn whether participating in an exercise program with a weight loss program reduces PAD signs and symptoms more than an exercise program alone. To participate, you must be between 18 and 85 years old, have PAD, and have a body mass index (BMI) greater than 28 but less than 45. Participants must also be willing to use a smartphone and attend weekly study sessions. This study is located in Evanston, Illinois; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Are you an adult with mild heart failure and a left bundle branch block? This study will test whether a type of pacemaker called a cardiac resynchronization device can help the heart pump more blood in people who have mild heart failure (HF) and left bundle branch block. In the study, participants will have a cardiac resynchronization device implanted. This study is located in Bethesda, Maryland.

Have you been diagnosed with peripartum cardiomyopathy and are within 5 months of your due date? This study is evaluating the effectiveness of a medicine called bromocriptine to treat peripartum cardiomyopathy, or weakness of the heart muscle that occurs during or shortly after pregnancy. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old, diagnosed with peripartum cardiomyopathy, and within 5 months of your delivery date. This study takes place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Are you an adult with mild heart failure (HF) and left bundle branch block (LBBB)? LBBB is a heart condition in which there is a delay or blockage of electrical signals to the left side of the heart. This study is exploring the use of a treatment called cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) in people with HF and LBBB. To have CRT, participants must be willing to have an implanted device, called a biventricular pacemaker, that helps the chambers of the heart work together to pump blood more efficiently. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old. This study takes place in Rochester, Minnesota.

Are you an adult with sleep apnea, overweight, or obesity, or do you just want to help research? This study is looking at how sleep apnea changes fat tissue in the body. The researchers will examine whether these changes in fat tissue may raise the risk of heart and blood vessel diseases. To participate in this study, you must be between 18 and 60 years old with obstructive sleep apnea and healthy without any chronic diseases. This study takes place in Rochester, Minnesota.

Have you been diagnosed with a heart condition called HCM, or do you just want to help research? This study is seeking to understand how common sleep apnea is in people who have HCM. The study also wants to determine if sleep apnea is linked to problems with the rate and rhythm of the heart in people who have HCM. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old. Do you have a child 2 years or younger who has had surgery to treat myelomeningocele (MMC)? Sleep – disordered breathing (SBD) is common in infants and young children who have brain and spinal cord issues, including MMC, a serious type of spina bifida. This study is testing whether treating MMC by surgery before or after birth can help lower the risk of SBD. The study will also examine the link between SBD and brain development. This study takes place in multiple locations in the United States.
