Have you or your child been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, and are you interested a trial medicine already in use for some people living with the condition? A medicine called Trikafta is used to treat cystic fibrosis that is caused by a specific gene mutation. This study is testing whether Trikafta can also be used to treat cystic fibrosis that is caused by other gene mutations. Participants in this study must be at least 12 years old. This study takes place in Birmingham, Alabama; Atlanta, Georgia; and Houston, Texas.

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare different types of blood transfusions for critically injured patients who require large-volume blood transfusions. Participants must be at least 15 years old and need a massive blood transfusion. The study is taking place in locations in Alabama, California, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin.

Do you or your child have sickle cell disease and also have an interest in contributing to long-term data collection? This study is monitoring patients and collecting biological samples from patients who have sickle cell disease to better understand long-term outcomes. Participants can be any age and must have sickle cell disease. This study is located in six sites in Illinois, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

Do you have high blood pressure, and do you receive care at a community-based clinic in the South? This study will explore an intensive high blood pressure management approach at participating community-based clinics. The approach aims to lower participants’ systolic blood pressure to 120 mm Hg. To participate in this study, you must be at least 40 years old, understand English, and not be pregnant. The study is located in Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi.

Do you or a loved one have pneumonia? This study will test whether combining two medicines to reduce inflammation of the airway and to keep it open may help prevent respiratory failure in people who have pneumonia. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and have severe pneumonia with low blood oxygen levels.

Are you an adult who has PAD and overweight or obesity? This study aims to learn whether participating in an exercise program with a weight loss program reduces PAD signs and symptoms more than an exercise program alone. To participate, you must be between 18 and 85 years old, have PAD, and have a body mass index (BMI) greater than 28 but less than 45. Participants must also be willing to use a smartphone and attend weekly study sessions. This study is located in Evanston, Illinois; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Are you an adult with high blood pressure who receives medical care from a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)? This study is testing intervention strategies to help people from underserved communities lower their blood pressure and prevent cardiovascular disease. To participate in this study, you must be 40 years old or older and have high blood pressure that puts you at risk for cardiovascular diseases such as stroke or heart failure. This study takes place in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Biloxi, Mississippi.

Are you at least 55 years old and fully insured by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, and do you want to improve your blood pressure? This study is testing a health coaching approach to help people with high blood pressure take their medicine correctly and on time. To participate in this study, you must have high blood pressure that is not well-controlled by medicine. This study takes place in New Orleans, Louisiana.

DIVA is a pragmatic randomized clinical trial (RCT) to determine: among (P) preterm infants born 24-27 6/7 weeks gestation undergoing extubation from mechanical ventilation, whether (I) Non-invasive neurally adjusted ventilatory assist (NIV-NAVA) (C) compared with Non-synchronized nasal intermittent positive pressure ventilation (NS-NIPPV), will reduce the incidence of (O) extubation failure within (T) 5 days (120 hours) of extubation.
