The purpose of this study is to identify the impact of estradiol (E2) on the mechanisms that regulate vascular endothelial function in peri-menopausal (PERI) women. This study is the first step in understanding factors contributing to endothelial dysfunction in women with advancing reproductive age and in response to E2 administration.

Does your child have Down Syndrome? Did they have a complete atrioventricular septal defect (CAVSD) repair within the first year of their life? Researchers in this study are investigating how the
brain develops in children with Down Syndrome who have congenital heart disease. To participate, your child must be between 5 and 12 years old and have Down Syndrome. The study will enroll children who have congenital heart disease as well as children who do not have congenital heart disease. This trial will compare time from randomization to failure of treatment or death from any cause of IST versus URD BMT when used as initial therapy to treat Severe Aplastic Anemia.

Have you or your child been diagnosed with a blood disorder? If so, you (or they) may be able to participate in a clinical study where researchers are studying a type of infusion using cord blood. Are you scheduled for a stem cell transplant with cord blood? This study will assess the safety and effectiveness of certain cord blood transplants. The study will help researchers learn the best methods for collecting, storing, and using cord blood in transplants. To participate in this study, you must have a disorder that compromises your body’s ability to make blood cells. This study is located in Bethesda, Maryland.

Are you a woman with coronary microvascular dysfunction? In this clinical trial, researchers are studying coronary microvascular dysfunction, which occurs when there are problems in the small blood vessels in the heart. It frequently causes chest pain and is more common in women. The researchers want to learn how daily life and mental stress affect the heart. You may be able to participate if you are at least 45 years old, have gone through menopause, and are willing to undergo tests to measure your stress level. The study is taking place at locations in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Bashir™ Endovascular Catheter has been designed to administer therapeutic agents in the peripheral vasculature. Because of the unique design of the catheter, with its six expandable infusion limbs, the Bashir™ Endovascular Catheter has the ability to: 1. Create a much larger central channel for blood flow, thereby utilizing the body's own endogenous fibrinolytic agents to lyse the clot, and 2. Greatly enhance the radial dispersion of a catheter-administered thrombolytic agent throughout the thrombus. Expansion of the multiple arms of the basket in the infusion catheter causes fissuring of the clot. The net result is that a greater surface area of clot is exposed to both endogenous and exogenously administered lytic agents, thereby promoting clot dissolution.

The main goal of this study is to determine whether the treatment will lead to a complete absence of severe vaso-occlusive events (VOEs) in patients with severe SCD.

Do you have heart disease? This study is looking to improve the quality of heart CT scans by using new methods to create the images. You may be able to participate in the study if you are 18 years old or older, have heart disease, and have been told by your doctor that you need a CT scan. This study is taking place at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

Are you 75 years old or older and interested in participating in a clinical trial where researchers are studying whether statins, which are often used to treat high cholesterol, can help improve heart and brain health. To participate, you cannot have cardiovascular disease or dementia.
