This study is exploring the use of chloride supplementation in people with heart failure who require treatment with IV diuretics, which are used to help rid your body of excess water and salt. To participate in this study, you must have heart failure with signs of volume overload (rales, edema, elevated jugular venous pressure [JVP], or weight gain of at least 5 pounds) requiring treatment with IV diuretics. This study takes place in New Haven, Connecticut.

Do you or your child have severe asthma that is not easily controlled by inhaled corticosteroids? This study evaluates the use of five different asthma medicines to treat adults and adolescents with severe asthma. To participate in this study, you or your child must be 12 years old or older. This study takes place in multiple locations across the United States.

Have you been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and been referred to the Yale New Haven Hospital Sleep Center for continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) treatment? This study is examining how the features that can raise or lower the risk of OSA can impact how well CPAP works in an individual. Researchers will use detailed sleep studies to determine which features contribute to OSA. Results from this study will help researchers develop treatment plans that can lead to personalized OSA treatments to improve patient lives. To participate in this study, you must be at least 19 years old. This study takes place in North Haven, Connecticut.

Does your child have obesity? In this study, children and teens, 7 to 13 years of age with obesity and their parents will learn about nutrition, behavior changes, and exercise through the Bright Bodies lifestyle program. Researchers want to see if this program can help lower weight gain and screen time, improve sleep, eating behaviors, and quality of life, and reduce parental stress. The study is taking place at locations in Alabama, California, and Maine.

Are you an adult with atrial fibrillation? In this study, researchers are comparing a continuous direct oral anticoagulation (DOAC) use versus time-limited (1 month) DOAC guided by an AF-sensing Smart Watch (AFSW) for persons with atrial fibrillation and a moderate risk of stroke. Participants must be between the ages of 22 and 85 and have a history of atrial fibrillation. Do you have mitral valve disease? This clinical trial is testing different types of images taken of the heart to learn more about mitral valve disease and the best ways to treat it. You must be 60 years old to participate. The study is enrolling patients in locations in Arkansas, California, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Quebec City, Canada.

Are you 65 years old or older, and do you have severe primary mitral regurgitation? This condition — also called degenerative mitral regurgitation — happens when there is a problem with the mitral valve itself or its supporting tissue, leading to a leaky valve. This study is comparing the safety and effectiveness of two different ways of repairing the mitral valve: transcatheter edge-to-edge repair and surgical repair. To participate in this study, your healthcare provider must determine that you are a candidate for both mitral valve transcatheter edge-to-edge repair and surgical repair. This study takes place in multiple locations across the United States and Canada.

DIVA is a pragmatic randomized clinical trial (RCT) to determine: among (P) preterm infants born 24-27 6/7 weeks gestation undergoing extubation from mechanical ventilation, whether (I) Non-invasive neurally adjusted ventilatory assist (NIV-NAVA) (C) compared with Non-synchronized nasal intermittent positive pressure ventilation (NS-NIPPV), will reduce the incidence of (O) extubation failure within (T) 5 days (120 hours) of extubation.

Does your child have Down Syndrome? Did they have a complete atrioventricular septal defect (CAVSD) repair within the first year of their life? Researchers in this study are investigating how the
brain develops in children with Down Syndrome who have congenital heart disease. To participate, your child must be between 5 and 12 years old and have Down Syndrome. The study will enroll children who have congenital heart disease as well as children who do not have congenital heart disease. Are you an adult female with LAM? If so, you may be able to participate in this clinical study where researchers are observing patients who are taking or have taken a certain kind of medication, mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), to treat lymphangioleiomyomatosis, also known as LAM. You must be at least 18 years old to take part.
