Do you have HIV and insomnia? This study is looking at whether insomnia increases pain and inflammation in people who have HIV. Have you previously been prescribed opioid medicines? This study will find out whether waking up frequently during the night can affect the way your brain processes certain medicines. To participate in this study, you must be 18 to 48 years old, have a normal sleep cycle, and have previously taken opioid medicines to treat pain. This study is located in Baltimore, Maryland.

Are you an adult with mild heart failure and a left bundle branch block? This study will test whether a type of pacemaker called a cardiac resynchronization device can help the heart pump more blood in people who have mild heart failure (HF) and left bundle branch block. In the study, participants will have a cardiac resynchronization device implanted. This study is located in Bethesda, Maryland.

Have you had a genetic test that revealed a change (mutation) in the genes that affect your body's elastic fibers? This study aims to learn more about the impact of changes in connective tissue genes on an individual's overall health. To participate in this study, you or your child must be between the ages of 2 and 100 years old. You must have also had a genetic test that identified changes in a gene that affects elastic fibers (e.g., ELN, LOX, MFAP4, FBLN5 and EFEMP). This study is located at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

This study will test whether a new device called the OsciPulse system, which is designed to repeatedly compress a person’s legs, can improve blood flow through the legs to prevent or treat varicose veins.
