Are you a healthy adult who wants to join a study about less sitting? You might qualify for this research. Researchers are testing if walking breaks can improve cardiovascular health, like blood pressure and glucose (sugar) levels. To join, you must be 18 years old and have no long-term health issues or not be taking medications for blood pressure or diabetes. Participants will have to go to the study site for a 9-hour visit and walk on a treadmill during the day. The study is taking place in New York City, New York.

Are you an adult who gets little exercise and sits a lot every day? If you sit for more than 8 hours a day and exercise less than 90 minutes per week, this study may interest you. Researchers want to see if walking or standing breaks during long sitting periods can make your heart healthier. To take part in this study, you must be 36 to 55 years old. You also should be able to walk four blocks and go up two flights of stairs. The study is taking place in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Do you have high blood pressure? Do you have high blood pressure? Stress raises your risk for cardiovascular disease and health issues, like high blood pressure. Researchers are testing whether a training program on a smartphone can help lower stress. To join, you must be 45 years old, have high perceived stress, and be living in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area.

Are you curious about how stress increases the risk for heart disease including how stress affects the brain and inflammation? The study could reveal new targets for interventions to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. They are looking for people who are interested in participating in a clinical study. You must be 18 to 30 years old to participate. Participants will take a medication once a day while participating in the trial. The study is taking place in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Are you pregnant and interested in participating in clinical research that tests a home visiting program to promote heart health for mothers and children? To participate, you must be 18 years old or older and no more than 34 weeks pregnant. Are you currently enrolled in the Risk Underlying Rural Areas Longitudinal (RURAL) study and between the ages of 25 and 65? Are you currently enrolled in the Risk Underlying Rural Areas Longitudinal (RURAL) study and between the ages of 25 and 65? If so, you may be able to participate in a sub-study to help understand how sleep habits can contribute to heart health. This sub-study measures sleep apnea, sleep duration, timing, and regularity combined with questionnaire responses to assess insomnia, sleep quality, sleep-related impairment, and fatigue.

Are you an African American woman at risk for diabetes? This study is testing whether using mobile health technology, such as smartphone apps and activity monitors, can help increase physical activity in African American women who are at risk for diabetes. To participate in this study, you must be an African American woman between 25 and 75 years old, have evidence of insulin resistance, and live in Prince George’s County, Maryland, or Ward 5, 7, or 8 in Washington, D.C. This study is located in Bethesda, Maryland.

Do you have a heart or blood vessel disease, such as peripheral artery disease? This study aims to collect data and samples from people who have a heart or blood vessel disease. This may include blood tests, ultrasound exams, and heart and lung tests. Family members and healthy people may also participate. The results may help researchers better understand PAD and other heart and blood vessel diseases. Participants must be at least 2 years old. Women who are pregnant may not take part in some study activities. This study is located in Bethesda, Maryland.

Are you at least 21 years old and have heart failure? In this clinical trial, researchers want to understand why patients with heart failure have trouble exercising and doing some of their daily activities. To take part, you must be taking medication to treat your heart failure for at least 30 days. People without heart failure can also join the study. Participants will have images (MRI) taken as part of the study. The study is taking place in Baltimore, Maryland.
