Are you an adult with primary light chain amyloidosis? Researchers in this study are investigating new ways to look at the heart to identify when it is not working properly. You may be able to participate if you are at least 18 years old and have been diagnosed with primary light chain amyloidosis. This study is taking place in Boston, Massachusetts.

Are you a healthy adult interested in helping researchers find a link between stress and cardiovascular disease?
This study explores how stress causes inflammation in the body, which may identify new targets to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. You may be able to participate if you are 18 to 30 years old, right-handed, fluent in English, and have a body mass index less than or equal to 35. This study is recruiting in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

People with obesity have a high risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD).
People with obesity have a high risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD). Some hormones in the body, called natriuretic peptides, help lower your risk of CVD. When these hormones are low, they increase the risk of developing diabetes and poor heart health. This can lead to an increased risk of developing CVD. This study looks at how lower levels of the hormones made by the heart contribute to heart health. You may be able to participate if you are 18 years old or older, you will allow the collection of genetic material, and you are willing to follow the study protocol that includes an exercise regimen. This study is recruiting in Birmingham, Alabama.

Interested in helping to understand why Black people may be at an increased risk of cardiovascular and metabolic disease?
Interested in helping to understand why Black people may be at an increased risk of cardiovascular and metabolic disease? Research has shown that some populations, for example Black individuals, have a higher risk for heart disease. Individuals with genetic traits for lower levels of hormones called natriuretic peptides, which are made by the heart, are at an increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease. They may have an increased risk of insulin sensitivity that could lead to diabetes. You may be able to participate in this study if you are 18 years or older, are Black, and have a blood pressure between 120/80 and not more than 160/100. This study is recruiting in Birmingham, Alabama.

Do you have left ventricular outflow tract obstruction (LVOTO)?
Do you have left ventricular outflow tract obstruction (LVOTO)? This study is testing a procedure where the wall between the two pumping chambers in the heart, which may become too thick in some people, is made thinner to help relieve symptoms of LVOTO. Participants will need to stay in the hospital for 2 to 6 days for this procedure. You must be over 21 years old to participate. This study is located in Atlanta, Georgia.
