You will access a website, watch videos, wear a Fitbit device, and learn about healthy eating. You need to be 18 years old or older and exercise less than 150 minutes per week to join. Is your child 10 to 14 years old? If so, they may be able to join a study where researchers are looking at a way to help kids eat healthier and move more. Participants will go to after-school events and meetings and learn about healthy eating and physical activity. To join, children will need one parent or guardian who can help and do study tasks. A large portion of the U.S. adult population reports insufficient sleep on a nightly basis. It has been shown that sustained insufficient sleep leads to adverse cardiometabolic risk profile and positive energy balance. The goal of this clinical trial is to test the impact of repeated intermittent short sleep, with short sleep maintained 5 days per week followed by 2 days of prolonged sleep, compared to daily adequate sleep, on energy balance and cardiometabolic risk.

Do you have overweight? Circadian rhythm disorders can cause overweight and obesity. This study is examining how not getting enough sleep causes these complications. To participate in this study, you must be between the ages of 20 and 40 and have overweight but not obesity. This study is located in New York, New York.

Are you a black man or women who has obesity and lives in Washington D.C.? This study aims to understand the health and health needs of people in predominately black churches in Washington, D.C. This information will help researchers design programs to improve heart health in these communities. To participate in this study, you must be between 19 and 85 years old and attend one of the churches in the study. This study is based in Bethesda, Maryland.

Do you have asthma and obesity and live near Aurora, Colorado? Obesity can lead to widespread inflammation that may make asthma worse. This study will test whether a medicine called CXA-10 reduces inflammation in the airways and body and improves asthma symptoms in people who have obesity. To participate in this study, you must be between 18 and 65 years old, have a BMI of 30 or greater, and have been on long-acting controller medicine—such as inhaled corticosteroids or long-acting beta2-agonists—for at least three months. This study is located in Aurora, Colorado.

Do you or your child have overweight or obesity? This study aims to find effective ways to prevent and treat obesity and metabolic syndrome in African American communities. The study will test the effectiveness of a family-based comprehensive health and fitness programs involving community health workers. Participants must be 12 years old or older and African American and have overweight or obesity. This study takes place in Charleston, South Carolina.

Does your child have higher triglyceride levels but normal cholesterol levels? This study is testing whether a protein supplement called carnitine can help prevent blood vessel stiffness in teenagers who have metabolic syndrome or other risk factors for heart and blood vessel diseases. Participants in this study must be between 13 and 19 years old and have moderate to high blood triglyceride levels but normal blood cholesterol levels. This study takes place in Houston, Texas.
