Are you a woman who is postmenopausal or a man older than 65? This study will investigate the effects of oral progesterone for older women and testosterone for older men on QT intervals. QT intervals that are increased by medicine can lead to dangerous heart rhythm problems. Researchers hope to learn more about why this happens and how to deliver safer doses. This study is located in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Have you been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)?
Have you been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)? Many ICU patients experience profound sleep and circadian rhythm disruption. This study will test how light, feeding, mobility, and sleep may normalize circadian rhythms and improve sleep and metabolism. You may be able to participate if you are 18 years old or older. This study is recruiting in New Haven, Connecticut.

Do you do shift work and are interested in metabolic health? This study looks at how diet may affect circadian misalignment. To join, you must be 18 to 45 years old and in good health. As a participant, you will stay in the study hospital twice and get all your meals during the study. The study is taking place at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.

Would you like to understand how diet interacts with daily body rhythms?
This study is examining how the food you eat can affect appetite regulation and energy use. To participate in this study, you should be 18 to 45 years old, healthy, and have a BMI between 18.5 and 29.9. The study is located in Boston, Massachusetts.

Would you like to better understand the relationship between your body’s internal clock, also called the circadian system, and physical activity?
Physical activity improves health and reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes. The goal of this study is to understand the interaction between the circadian system and physical activity. To participate in this study, you should be 20 to 45 years old and have a BMI between 20 and 34.9. The study is located in Boston, Massachusetts.

Do you sleep fewer than 7 hours at night and eat frequently during the day?
Did you know that short sleep is a risk factor for heart disease? In this study, participants will either eat over a 14-hour period or limit eating to an 8-hour period during the day to determine if an extended eating period contributes to high blood pressure, heart disease, and blood sugar problems. To participate in this study, you should be 18 to 45 years old, have a BMI between 25 and 35, and sleep 6.5 or fewer hours a night. This study is recruiting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Do you have difficulty falling asleep and waking up?
Researchers want to find out if light sensitivity is altered in patients with delayed sleep wake phase disorder (DSWPD), which may impact their body clocks, also called circadian rhythms. Participants will be monitored at home as well as on-site for 2 to 3 days. To participate in this study, you should be 16 to 30 years old and have DSWPD. This study is in Boulder, Colorado, and Chicago, Illinois.

Are you a healthy person who would like to participate in a sleep research study?
This study is evaluating changes in the heart and blood vessels of people when they have sleep deprivation. The study compares people whose parents have high blood pressure to those with parents who do not. To participate in this study, you should be 18 to 35 years old, sleep 7 to 9 hours at night, and should not smoke. This study is in Rochester, Minnesota.

Are you a shift worker and would you like to participate in a research study?
Shift work impacts the body clock, or circadian rhythm, and is associated with diabetes and heart and blood vessel diseases. This study is evaluating if high blood cholesterol in shift workers can lead to problems controlling blood sugar and the way blood vessels work. To participate in this study, you should be 18 to 65 years old and work a night shift. This study is in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Are you interested in helping researchers learn more about how inflammation and diseases of the blood vessels start?
Diseases related to the immune system, blood clots, and blood vessels are interrelated. This study is trying to understand how these diseases start and what happens in the different organs in people with these diseases. To participate in this study, you or your child should be 5 years old or older and be healthy or have an autoimmune disease, or problems with blood clots or blood vessels. This study is in Bethesda, Maryland.
