The Bashir™ Endovascular Catheter has been designed to administer therapeutic agents in the peripheral vasculature. Because of the unique design of the catheter, with its six expandable infusion limbs, the Bashir™ Endovascular Catheter has the ability to: 1. Create a much larger central channel for blood flow, thereby utilizing the body's own endogenous fibrinolytic agents to lyse the clot, and 2. Greatly enhance the radial dispersion of a catheter-administered thrombolytic agent throughout the thrombus. Expansion of the multiple arms of the basket in the infusion catheter causes fissuring of the clot. The net result is that a greater surface area of clot is exposed to both endogenous and exogenously administered lytic agents, thereby promoting clot dissolution.

Do you or your child have a platelet, bleeding, or white blood cell disorder? This study is looking at people who have platelet or other blood disorders. The researchers will use a blood sample to look for problems with platelets and a possible genetic cause in the participant’s DNA or RNA. To participate in this study, you must be a child or adult who either is healthy or has a platelet disorder, coagulation disorder, or white blood cell disorder. This study is located in New York, New York.

Does your developing baby have a heart defect? Have you had a stillborn baby? This study tests a new technology to measure fetal heart activity and find possible problems early. These problems include fetal arrhythmia and conduction disorders such as Brugada syndrome. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and pregnant, and have one of five high-risk complications of pregnancy: a fetus with a major congenital heart defect, hydrops, or gastroschisis; a previous unexplained stillbirth; or twins who share a placenta. This study is located in Madison and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Have you been diagnosed with orthostatic intolerance? This study aims to find out how the body’s regulation of basic functions, such as heart rate and blood pressure, is altered in people who have orthostatic intolerance. This condition, which has an unknown cause, is characterized by a racing heartbeat, dizziness, lightheadedness, and other symptoms that occur when a person stands up. To participate in this study, you must be between 18 and 80 years old and have orthostatic intolerance. This study is located in Nashville, Tennessee.

Are you a former smoker with COPD? Researchers are studying whether taking aspirin can help with COPD symptoms. Participants must be at least 40 years old, be diagnosed with COPD, and have a history of smoking at least 10 packs of cigarettes a year. The study is taking place in Baltimore, Maryland.

If so, you may be able to participate in a clinical trial where researchers are studying whether a home delivery program with foods meant to help increase the amount of omega-3 that you eat can help with COPD. Are you a smoker with COPD who is willing to use an e-cigarette to reduce how much you smoke? If so, you may be able to participate in a study that is trying to learn more about the effect of switching from smoking cigarettes to using e-cigarettes on COPD symptoms. You may be able to participate if you are 21 to 74 years old, have mild to moderate COPD, and are willing to try e-cigarettes to cut back on your smoking. The study is taking place in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Have you received treatment from a doctor for COPD that has gotten worse and have you been referred for pulmonary rehabilitation, which can help ease the symptoms of COPD.? In this study, researchers are comparing two ways to encourage people to participate in pulmonary rehabilitation. Participants must be at least 40 years old and be willing to participate in calls with a peer coach and view videos. The study is taking place in Springfield, Massachusetts.

This study will investigate the genes involved in the breathing process and in the development of lung diseases such as asthma or sarcoidosis to improve understanding of the role they play.
