Are you an adult with atrial fibrillation? In this study, researchers are comparing a continuous direct oral anticoagulation (DOAC) use versus time-limited (1 month) DOAC guided by an AF-sensing Smart Watch (AFSW) for persons with atrial fibrillation and a moderate risk of stroke. Participants must be between the ages of 22 and 85 and have a history of atrial fibrillation. The study is taking place at locations in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Washington, D.C.

Did you develop atrial fibrillation after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery? Did you develop atrial fibrillation after a coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery? This study is looking at how well oral anticoagulation medicines work to prevent complications, such as blood clots and heart attack, for patients who experience post-operative atrial fibrillation (POAF). Do you or someone in your family have a lymphatic disorder such as LAM? This study is looking at the relationship between lymphatic disorders and gene variations found in the lungs, blood, and other parts of the body. Researchers hope this will improve our understanding of these types of disorders and how genetic factors affect them. Participants must be between 2 and 90 years old and either have a lymphatic disorder or be a relative of someone who does. This study is located at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

Do you have tuberous sclerosis and want to help researchers better understand the disease? This study is investigating what causes multiple skin tumors to develop in people with tuberous sclerosis. Do you or a loved one have pneumonia? This study will test whether combining two medicines to reduce inflammation of the airway and to keep it open may help prevent respiratory failure in people who have pneumonia. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and have severe pneumonia with low blood oxygen levels.

Are you being treated in the ICU for acute respiratory failure? This study is looking at whether treating depression along with physical therapy helps people recover faster from respiratory failure. After leaving the ICU, you will be visited at your home by a physical therapist and occupational therapist who will talk to you about your goals for recovery and what activities you value the most. They will then design a plan for you that includes a type of talk therapy for depression called behavioral activation. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and undergoing treatment for acute respiratory failure for more than 24 hours in the ICU. This study is located in Baltimore, Maryland.
