Tennessee
This is a prospective, case-control study that seeks to learn about the role of genetics in early onset atrial fibrillation (AF) and if genetic testing can be used to improve how the investigators treat atrial fibrillation. The study will enroll 225 participants. Eligible participants will have undergone sequencing for arrhythmia and cardiomyopathy (CM) genes. Based on those results, participants will be recruited for an outpatient research visit with testing that includes cardiac MRI, rest/stress/signal-averaged ECGs, and cardiac monitoring. If an inherited arrhythmia/CM syndrome is diagnosed, guideline-directed changes to medical care will be recommended.

This study is looking to determine if patients with persistent AF with controlled hypertension or without hypertension who are referred for catheter ablation (PVI) and undergo adjunctive RDN have reduced AF burden at 12 months in comparison to patients who undergo only PVI

REACT-AF is a multicenter prospective, randomized, open-label, blinded endpoint (PROBE design), controlled trial comparing the current Standard Of Care (SOC) of continuous Direct Oral Anticoagulation (DOAC) use versus time-delimited (1 month) DOAC guided by an AF-sensing Smart Watch (AFSW) in participants with a history of paroxysmal or persistent Atrial Fibrillation (AF) and low-to-moderate stroke risk.

This clinical trial will have 2 components: a brief dose-ranging study and a randomized comparison of 2 doses of AdKCNH2-G628S with control cardiac surgery patients. The study will assess safety of the intervention in a population at increased risk for post-operative atrial fibrillation.

Minnesota
Are you a Minnesota resident with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy?
This study aims to find out how common it is for people with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy to also have sleep apnea. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a disease that causes the heart muscle to thicken. Participants will also wear a heart rhythm monitor to help researchers learn whether sleep apnea is linked to arrhythmia. The study seeks healthy volunteers as well as participants in the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Registry. To participate in this study, you must not have had a catheter ablation procedure to treat atrial fibrillation, had surgery to replace your heart valves, or been treated for sleep apnea. The study is located in Rochester, Minnesota.

Do you know someone who will be having heart surgery?
This study aims to identify what genetic patterns might cause atrial fibrillation and other adverse events that happen after heart surgery. To participate in this study, you must be between 20 and 90 years old. The study is in three locations in Massachusetts and Texas.

Did you develop atrial fibrillation after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery?
Did you develop atrial fibrillation after a coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery? This study is looking at how well oral anticoagulation medicines work to prevent complications, such as blood clots and heart attack, for patients who experience post-operative atrial fibrillation (POAF). This study is in multiple locations around the country.

New York
Are you an adult with atrial fibrillation who recently had a catheter ablation procedure? This study will investigate the effectiveness of an implantable cardiac monitor-guided device to monitor participants for recurrent atrial fibrillation following ablation. This study is located in Rochester, New York.

Pennsylvania
Do you live in Pittsburgh and have atrial fibrillation? This study is evaluating the health effects of a smartphone-based program, which stimulates conversation, and a device to monitor their heart rate and rhythm. To participate in this study, you must be at least 21 and take warfarin or other similar medicine for atrial fibrillation.
