Do you or your child have obesity and high blood cholesterol or triglycerides? This study is testing the use of a statin in young people to see whether early treatment of high blood cholesterol can affect the risk of developing plaque in blood vessels. Participants in this study must be age 10-17, have a body mass index (BMI) in the obese range, be fluent in English, and not be pregnant.

Are you planning to have coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery to treat your heart disease? This study aims to use computed tomography (CT) imaging to help doctors and their patients make better decisions about heart surgery. Are you an adult who is healthy or has problems with the level of cholesterol or other lipids in the blood? This study is gathering information on the risk factors for very high or very low levels of lipids, or fats, in the blood. Researchers will collect participants’ demographic information, medical history, and blood samples. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old. This study takes place in Dallas, Texas.

Are you an adult with a diagnosed sleep phase disorder? This study aims to assess the sleep patterns and quality of sleep in people who have sleep phase disorders to determine how the disorders affect their circadian rhythms. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and have a sleep phase disorder, such as advanced sleep-wake phase syndrome or delayed sleep-wake phase syndrome. This study is located in Chicago, Illinois.

Does your child have overweight or obesity? This study is exploring the link between obesity and sleep deprivation in children. Researchers will test whether participants who do not get enough good quality sleep have trouble making healthy food choices. Participants in this study must be 8 to 12 years old and have overweight or obesity. This study takes place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Providence, Rhode Island.

Do you identify as a Black or White adult and are interested in helping research? This study is testing whether people who experience negative behaviors from others because of their race have a high risk of sleep problems. Researchers will use sleep studies to measure participants’ sleep patterns after they experience negative behaviors because of their race. To participate in this study, you must be 18 to 64 years old. This study takes place in San Francisco, California.
