Do you have high blood pressure? If so, you may be able to participate in a clinical research study. Researchers are testing a home-based blood pressure monitoring program that provides health education, guidance, monitoring, and patient coaching to people who live in rural areas. You must be at least 18 years old to participate and be taking medication for high blood pressure. The study is taking place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

In this study, researchers explore whether a smartphone app can help people eat less salt and improve their blood pressure. Do you have high blood pressure, high A1C levels, or have overweight or obesity? Researchers are testing if a program helps increase physical activity for people at risk of cardiovascular disease. Participants will receive remote coaching and wear a physical activity tracker. To join, you must be 40 to 70 years old and can access the internet. The overall goal of this study is to use state-of-the-art monitors to objectively measure the 24-hour behavioral cycle in each trimester of pregnancy, and to examine associations of these behaviors with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and other adverse pregnancy outcomes linked with future cardiovascular disease risk.

Are you interested in participating in a clinical trial on heart health? In this trial, researchers are testing ways to help lower blood pressure and reduce cardiovascular disease as people age. To participate, you must be 65 to 80 years old, and you must not have high blood pressure or take medication for high blood pressure. The study is taking place in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Are you an adult whose high blood pressure does not improve with lifestyle changes and medicines? This study will assess whether minocycline, an antibiotic with anti-inflammatory effects, can improve blood pressure control in patients who do not respond to medicines in combination with lifestyle changes, such as physical activity, weight loss, and healthy eating patterns. To participate you must be at least 18 years old and have high blood pressure that does not respond to treatment with three different high blood pressure medicines even when used at the maximum doses. Please note that this study is in Gainesville, Florida.

Have you been diagnosed with high blood pressure while pregnant? This study is investigating whether a mother’s blood pressure during pregnancy affects her newborn’s lung development. To participate in this study, your newborn must have been born either prematurely at more than 25 weeks’ gestation or at full term to a healthy mother or a mother who was diagnosed with high blood pressure during pregnancy. This study is located in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Are you a healthy adult who regularly sleeps for 6.5 or fewer hours? This study is examining whether getting enough sleep can lower your risk of high blood pressure. To participate in this study, you must be between 18 and 65 years old, regularly sleep for 6.5 or fewer hours, and be able to adjust your sleep schedule for the study. This study is located in Rochester, Minnesota.
