Is your family from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, or Sri Lanka? If so, you may be able to participate in a clinical study looking at cardiovascular disease, such as heart disease and stroke among people of South Asian descent. Participants must be between 40 and 84 years old and have no history of heart attack or stroke, heart failure, angina, or atrial fibrillation. This study is taking place in San Francisco, California, Chicago, Illinois, and New York City, New York.

Are you 75 years old or older and interested in participating in a clinical trial where researchers are studying whether statins, which are often used to treat high cholesterol, can help improve heart and brain health. To participate, you cannot have cardiovascular disease or dementia. Do you have obesity and severe asthma. Researchers are looking for participants with obesity or severe asthma who may or may not have the other conditions to see the effect of taking an exercise test on lung function. You must be 18 to participate. The study will take place at the University of California, San Francisco, Airway Clinical Research Center.

Do you have mitral valve disease? This clinical trial is testing different types of images taken of the heart to learn more about mitral valve disease and the best ways to treat it. You must be 60 years old to participate. Do you want to help improve heart imaging techniques? This study aims to improve magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) methods to detect coronary heart disease. Healthy people and people who have coronary heart disease will have MRI scans while resting and after taking a medicine that temporarily makes your heart work harder. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and either healthy or diagnosed with coronary heart disease. The study is taking place in Los Angeles, California.

Did you develop atrial fibrillation after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery? Did you develop atrial fibrillation after a coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery? This study is looking at how well oral anticoagulation medicines work to prevent complications, such as blood clots and heart attack, for patients who experience post-operative atrial fibrillation (POAF). This study is in multiple locations around the country.

Do you have asthma, COPD, or asthma COPD overlap syndrome? This study will look at whether a health coach can help people who have asthma, COPD, or asthma-COPD overlap syndrome with their condition. You will be randomly selected to meet with either a lung specialist alone or a lung specialist and a health coach, who will give you recommendations to improve your care and better manage your condition. To participate in this study, you must be age 18 or older, have asthma or COPD, and not already be seeing a lung specialist. You also must get your care from one of 10 health centers in San Francisco, California. This study is located in San Francisco, California.

Are you an adult who has asthma, or are you willing to be a healthy volunteer? This study is looking at the DNA in airway cells to see how they differ between people who have asthma and people who do not. To get a sample of cells from your airways, you may have a bronchoscopy (a tube inserted through your mouth into your airways). To participate in this study, you must be between 18 and 70 years old, either with asthma or with no history of asthma. This study is located in San Francisco, California.
