Do you have high blood pressure, high A1C levels, or have overweight or obesity? Researchers are testing if a program helps increase physical activity for people at risk of cardiovascular disease. Participants will receive remote coaching and wear a physical activity tracker. To join, you must be 40 to 70 years old and can access the internet. Do you want to help find new treatments for heart failure with preserved ejection fraction? This study is testing whether a medicine called spironolactone can help treat heart failure with preserved ejection fraction when paired with the standard treatment. Spironolactone helps to remove excess water and sodium from the body. To participate in this study, you must be between 50 and 99 years old and diagnosed with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.

Do you have heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and thyroid problems? This study will test whether hormone therapy with liothyronine is safe and effective for treating people who have heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and low triiothyronine (T3) syndrome. Low T3 syndrome is a type of thyroid hormone that helps control many functions of your body. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and diagnosed with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. This study is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Does your child have overweight or obesity? This study is exploring the link between obesity and sleep deprivation in children. Researchers will test whether participants who do not get enough good quality sleep have trouble making healthy food choices. Do you have heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD)? This study is testing the effectiveness of thyroid hormone therapy with a medicine called liothyronine (LT3) in individuals HFrEF. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and have Class I, II, or III heart failure. This study takes place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Do you have heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFPEF)? This study is testing the efficacy of a diuretic medicine called spironolactone that stops your body from absorbing too much salt and keeps your potassium levels from dropping too low. Participants of this study must be between 50 and 99 years old and already taking diuretic medicine. This study takes place in multiple locations across the United States and Sweden.

Does your child have overweight or obesity or just want to be in a study on sleep and eating habits? Overweight and obesity are common in children who do not get enough good quality sleep. This study aims to understand how sleep deficiency can affect a child’s ability to make good food choices. Researchers will ask participants to spend either 8 or 11 hours in bed and to keep track of their food choices. Participants in this study must be 8 to 12 years old. This study takes place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Providence, Rhode Island.
