Are you a current patient at Massachusetts General Hospital or Brigham and Women’s Hospital with clinical depression and heart failure or unstable chest pain (called angina)? Have you experienced a cardiac event in the past 6 months? This study assesses the efficacy of combining center-based and remote- or home-based cardiac rehabilitation sessions. Many patients who require cardiac rehabilitation, including those with angina myocardial infarction, heart failure, heart valve disease, and coronary heart (artery) disease, do not complete the necessary amount of rehabilitation sessions when done in a center-based environment. Researchers are investigating whether a combination approach will help. To participate in this study, you must be between 18 and 85 years old. This study takes place in Detroit, Michigan.

Are you an adult who does not have high blood pressure and is interested in research? This study will investigate how the brain regulates the body’s response to stress and how infection with HIV or pre-hypertension affects regulation. Your heart and brain activity will be measured while you are at rest, during a mentally stressful task, and while you feel angry. The study will also test whether a breathing exercise improves regulation. People with and without HIV and pre-hypertension will be included. To participate in this study, you must be between 21 and 65 years old and not have high blood pressure. This study is located in Miami, Florida.

Are you a healthy adult who regularly sleeps for 6.5 or fewer hours? This study is examining whether getting enough sleep can lower your risk of high blood pressure. To participate in this study, you must be between 18 and 65 years old, regularly sleep for 6.5 or fewer hours, and be able to adjust your sleep schedule for the study. This study is located in Rochester, Minnesota.

The purpose of this project is to test sleep reactivity as an independent cause of Shift Work Disorder (SWD). The primary hypothesis is that those with high sleep reactivity will show persistent SWD symptoms after experimental reduction of circadian misalignment, which will then be mitigated with CBT.

Are you an adult with a diagnosed sleep phase disorder? This study aims to assess the sleep patterns and quality of sleep in people who have sleep phase disorders to determine how the disorders affect their circadian rhythms. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and have a sleep phase disorder, such as advanced sleep-wake phase syndrome or delayed sleep-wake phase syndrome. This study is located in Chicago, Illinois.

Do you get less than 7 hours of sleep each day and take medicine for opioid use disorder (OUD)? This study is looking at how the brain systems that control sleep can affect medication-assisted treatment in people who have opioid use disorder. The study will test whether suvorexant can help improve sleep and reduce stress without interfering with treatments for OUD. To participate in this study, you must be 21 to 65 years old. This study takes place at various locations in Baltimore, Bel Air, and Elkton, Maryland.
