Research Funding and Success Rates
NHLBI funding supports researchers at more than 520 research institutions in the U.S. and internationally, as well as about 80 laboratories located at the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland. NHLBI's budget is primarily provided by annual funding (or appropriations) from the U.S. Congress.
