About six in 10 individuals who gave birth and had at least one risk factor for heart disease received information about ways to improve their health during a postpartum visit, according to a survey conducted with more than 160,000 people who gave birth between 2016-2020.
The authors note additional opportunities exist to reach people with information about steps they can take to support their health after pregnancy and reduce long-term risks for disease.
The research was funded by NHLBI and published in JAMA.
