Researchers recommend avoiding e-cigarettes to curb cardiovascular risks

To support a healthy heart, medical researchers recommend avoiding all tobacco products, including electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes). In a letter published in Circulation, researchers describe findings from the Population and Assessment of Tobacco and Health study that found adults who used e-cigarettes and tobacco cigarettes together did not have a reduced risk for experiencing a heart attack, heart failure, or stroke compared to people who used tobacco cigarettes.

The research was partially supported by NHLBI.
