Why heart attack symptoms are sometimes missed in women

An NHLBI-funded study found that young women who report heart attack symptoms are more likely to have them dismissed by their providers as not heart related. The findings appear in Circulation, a journal of the American Heart Association; and are based on an analysis from the project Variation In Recovery: Role of Gender on Outcomes of Young AMI Patients (VIRGO).
