Expert Panel on Integrated Guidelines for Cardiovascular Health and Risk Reduction in Children and Adolescents Full Report

Overview

The Expert Panel Integrated Guidelines for Cardiovascular Health and Risk Reduction in Children and Adolescents contain recommendations based on a systematic evidence review and are directed towards all primary pediatric care providers - pediatricians, family practitioners, nurses and nurse practitioners, physician assistants and registered dietitians. By addressing the major population-based risk factors for CVD in a single evidence-based set of Guidelines, the aim is to support pediatric care providers in optimizing CV health in infancy, early childhood, and adolescence with a goal to deliver them to adulthood free of CVD risk factors.

The Full Report contains complete background information on the state of the science, methodology of the evidence review and the guideline development process, summaries of the evidence reviews by risk factor, discussion of the Expert Panel's rationale for recommendations, and more than 1,000 citations from the published literature.
