The 19th annual Sickle Cell in Focus (SCiF) conference will be held in a virtual format from Thursday, September 24th – Friday, September 25th, 2026. The SCiF conference will once again be co-hosted by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and The University of the West Indies (UWI).
A world-class educational update on sickle cell disease (SCD), this year’s SCiF conference will focus on advancing global understanding and management of sickle cell disease through sessions on data harmonization and global SCD databases, transfusion complications, genetic therapies, and the role of inflammation and aging in SCD. The agenda also highlights emerging research on prediction of SCD complications, the clinical implications of sickle cell trait, and innovative approaches to SCD management, including lifestyle interventions and novel therapeutics. At SCiF, you will have the opportunity to learn from renowned experts who share your passion for sickle cell research and advocacy. No CMEs will be provided.
