Description

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), in partnership with the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Inc. (SCDAA), will host Research That Heals: Partnering with Patients to Transform SCD Care on June 25-26, 2026. This 1.5-day hybrid forum will be a crucial platform for engaging directly with the sickle cell community, including individuals with sickle cell disease (SCD) and their families and caregivers, healthcare providers, and community-based organizations. The forum aims to discuss and develop solutions to enhance care and improve the quality of life for children and adults living with SCD.

Participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences, insights, and suggestions, helping to shape future strategies for SCD research training, education, and partnerships. The forum will also focus on evaluating the progress made in the field and identifying a collaborative approach for continued improvement.

Due to limited seating, we encourage early registration for those who would like to attend in person.

Registration is free, and the forum is open to the public. This event will also be videocast and recorded.
