Description

The 18th annual Sickle Cell in Focus (SCiF) conference will be held in a virtual format from Monday, September 22nd – Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025. The SCiF conference will once again be co-hosted by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and The University of West Indies (UWI).

A world-class educational update on sickle cell disease, this year’s SCiF conference will highlight challenges in sickle cell care transition, complications and treatments, AI applications, data sharing in the SCD community, re-purposing drugs for treating sickle cell disease, and more. At SCiF, you will have the opportunity to learn from renowned experts, participate in engaging discussions, and network with fellow attendees who share your passion for sickle cell research and advocacy. No CMEs will be provided.

Individuals requiring Sign Language Interpreters or other reasonable accommodations to facilitate their participation in this event should contact Nancy Asomaning at scifconference@nhlbi.nih.gov at least five (5) days prior to the commencement of the event.

The conference will begin promptly at 8:40AM EST on Monday (Day 1), September 22nd and at 8:30am EST on Tuesday (Day 2), September 23rd. Streaming links to watch the conference are included below.
