American Indians/Alaska Natives are 20% more likely to have asthma than whites. Black children are 5 times more likely than non-Hispanic white children to be admitted to the hospital for asthma. Hispanic/Latino people are twice as likely to visit the emergency room for asthma, compared to non-Hispanic whites. Women are almost twice as likely to have asthma than men.
