Marishka Brown

Marishka K. Brown, Ph.D., is a distinguished biomedical scientist and federal public health leader at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She serves as the Acting Director of the Division of Lung Diseases (DLD) and the Director of the National Center on Sleep Disorders Research (NCSDR) within the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), where she provides executive leadership to a research portfolio that spans pulmonary, critical care, sleep, and circadian biology. Dr. Brown joined DLD as a Program Director within NCSDR and oversaw the Sleep Disorders Medicine program. Her NIH career began as an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Technology Policy Fellow in the NIH Office of Strategic Coordination. Dr. Brown received her education from the University of Maryland-Baltimore and her fellowship training at the University of Pennsylvania.
