Biography

Dr. Shelley Kalsi is Director of the Hematology Consult Service, Division of Intramural Research, at the National Heart, Lung, Blood Institute. She earned her medical degree at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, as part of the Honors Program in Medical Education. She completed Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland and Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh. She completed Fellowship in Transfusion Medicine/Blood Banking at the National Institutes of Health, after which she joined the NHLBI. In her current role, she oversees the hematology consult program at NIH, participates in trainee education, and participates in hematologic research that supports protocols across the NIH Intramural program. She has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed journal articles on various topics in Transfusion Medicine and hematology.
