Chromosome Biology
Chromosome Biology studies how gene-encoding DNA interplays with the histone proteins it is intricately wound around to define how cells –and by extension organisms— develop, function, and remain healthy. A major aspectt of this field is epigenetics, the study of environmental changes to the genome that occur above the level of DNA.
