The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute's Annual Sickle Cell Disease Clinical Research Meetings provide updates on clinical trials, basic and translational research, and associated activities. Investigators and Scholars from the Basic and Translational Research Program (BTRP) in Sickle Cell Disease will present results from their ongoing studies. Information from clinical research trials including BABY HUG, SITT, SWiTCH, TWiTCH, walk-PHaSST, and the Sickle Cell Clinical Research Network will be updated. The status of the Adult Sickle Cell Quality of Life Measurement Information System (ASCQ-Me) will be reviewed. Interest groups also will meet to on the topics of pain and the provision of care to adults.
