MAN 1: I've heard a lot about COPD recently with the commercials on the radio. With the saying you know, have you found your favorite seat or do you know where your favorite seat is so you can rest and catch your breath? So I think it's starting to become more aware to everybody about the disease.

WOMAN 1: I have an aunt that is dying of COPD she is on pure oxygen all the time. I have a sister in-law just found out she has COPD. It's hard breathing, you can't hardly walk across the room without gasping for air, they have to carry their oxygen with them. Got the point, they started off on oxygen first, just periodically and now they're on full time oxygen. They have to carry it everywhere they go. It's taking away their quality of life from them.

MAN 2: It stands for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. And that it's something that people who smoke, work around nasty stuff, and don't take care of themselves get as they get older.

WOMAN 2: I hear about it but you know you always think it's older people with you know disabilities and stuff like that. So I really didn't know anything about it.

WOMAN 1: To get diagnosed early in life and get some treatment, get started on it, you know you do have a good chance of living a normal life. And that's the main thing is living a good normal life.

MAN 2: I used to smoke, I started when I was in my early teens, and smoked up through 3 heart attacks. I learned that I'm not in quite as good shape as I thought I might be. So it was nice to learn something today. And to get some literature and all on it.

WOMAN 2: Coughing or you know other symptoms they said is, if you have a shortness of breath that doesn't seem to go away or you know if you have a problem breathing you should contact your doctor about it. Yes I was a smoker and I quit and I think that was one of the best lifestyle changes I could have made.

MAN 1: The test was easy I mean it's just get some basic information, some basic background information, your height, your weight, your age, and then it 's just 3 quick 6 second breaths into the spirometer and you get your results. So it's very easy. You don't have to study for this test.

MAN 2: The test was nice and simple. Anyone can do it. It's very non-invasive everyone's very lovely, very helpful, pleasant to be about around and enjoyed it. I'm glad you're out doing this.

WOMAN 2: Well you just have to take a deep breath and then breathe into the tube really fast and hard. So it went well and I'm glad I did it because I had never done it before.

MAN 1: You know you're capturing a big target audience here and maybe you'll get some people to go back to their family physicians and get checked.

WOMAN 2: You know a lot of people just don't know about it until they get it, get diagnosed or something.

WOMAN 1: : This is something you can, you can at least, you can't cure it but this is something that you can prevent from getting worse you know. And don't give up your life. You know life is too precious, you need to live your life to the fullest every day.

WOMAN 3: More people need to be aware. I mean you'd think by now they would be but seriously I don't think they are. So I think it's a good thing and I hope you guys keep coming every year.

MAN 3: I might genuinely think about quitting smoking. I'm not getting any younger and I know my breathing is not as good as I'd like it to be, I tire real easy. So this was an eye opener, I'm not going to be surprised, I wasn't surprised in what they told me I just needed to see it in writing.
