Welcome to We Can!
Summer Sunshine & Healthy Lifestyles with We Can!
The sun is shining this summer, and we hope you're taking advantage of every opportunity for physical activity and in-season fruits and vegetables. Each day, We Can! encourages families to lead healthy lifestyles through eating nutritious foods, getting physically active, and reducing screen time. And We Can! is happy to welcome Share Our Strength and soccer star Dwayne de Rosario in our effort to help children maintain a healthy weight. This summer, we also have revised, easy-to-read tip sheets to use in your communities with parents and children.
Share Our Strength
We Can! welcomes Share Our Strength as a national partner. Learn more about the collaboration and what it means for your community site in our Partner Spotlight.
Welcome to Program Ambassador Dwayne De Rosario
D.C. United player and the 2011 Major League Soccer's Most Valuable Player, Dwayne De Rosario is very familiar with a healthy lifestyle as a professional athlete. Passionate about healthy living and reducing childhood obesity, De Rosario joins We Can! as a new program ambassador!
De Rosario founded an organization called DeRo United, which hosts interactive soccer clinics designed to get children moving and interested in soccer, as well as to educate them about nutrition and inspire them to make healthier lifestyle choices. As a result of the collaboration with We Can!, parents will learn about healthy lifestyle changes from We Can! staff as children participate in the clinics. Stay tuned to the fall eNewsletter to learn about De Rosario and We Can!'s accomplishments together!
Discover more about physical activity, healthy eating, and reduced screen time with recently revised tip sheets. These redesigned resources are colorful, informative and easier to read . Each tip sheet is available on the We Can! website under the Tools and Resources section.
