New Asthma Resource for Clinicians and Other Health Professionals
The amount of information that physicians and other health professionals receive about managing asthma can be overwhelming. Health professionals can now find information about providing quality asthma care in one place, thanks to a new resource from the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP), coordinated by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, National Institutes of Health.
The Asthma Care Quick Reference is a concise, user–friendly guide that aims to help improve outcomes for people who have asthma by providing health professionals with evidence–based recommendations from the NAEPP’s Expert Panel Report 3–Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma. The medications and dosages were updated for this quick reference guide to reflect currently available asthma medications.
With this guide, health professionals can more easily access the guidance and tools they need to carry out each of the key clinical action steps for appropriately diagnosing, treating, and providing long-term follow–up care to people who have asthma.
